Citing national security risks, Donald Trump has signed a proclamation banning citizens of 12 countries from traveling to the United States, the White House said.

The countries are Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.

The proclamation will take effect on Monday, June 9.

The proclamation signed by Trump also imposes partial restrictions on citizens of seven other countries. The countries are Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela.
