$BTC receives a new proposal against quantum computing
Adam Back, co-founder of Blockstream, suggests integrating a type of signature in Taproot addresses to protect Bitcoin from quantum computing.
Adam Back, a recognized Bitcoin developer and co-founder of Blockstream, a company that promotes technologies for Bitcoin, proposed in a post on X on June 3 a solution to safeguard the security of that network against the risks that quantum computers could pose in the future.
Back's initiative comes after, in mid-December 2024, CriptoNoticias reported that the developer himself had estimated that quantum computers capable of threatening Bitcoin's cryptographic systems are still "one or two decades" away from being a tangible reality.
