#сша are creating a cryptocurrency reserve from confiscated Bitcoins (198 thousand #BTC , ~$21.4 billion), as well as a number of other cryptocurrencies that will now not be sold, but stored in a special fund. This decision has already been officially secured by a decree from President Trump. The main goal is to create a national strategic reserve of Bitcoins and enhance the financial independence of the USA, considering the growing role of cryptocurrencies in the global economy.
Although the government does not currently plan mass purchases of Bitcoin, experts suggest that under favorable conditions (for example, through the redistribution of funds from unused budget programs) limited purchases of crypto to replenish the reserve are possible. In particular, expert David Sachs claims that such an opportunity already exists, and the question is only about political will and the adoption of the corresponding decision.
Some analysts, such as Michael Saylor, believe that the US should acquire up to 25% of all Bitcoins, but realistically the government may limit itself to a much smaller share — due to risks, high costs, and budget constraints. Meanwhile, private companies are already actively forming their own crypto reserves: GameStop, Semler Scientific, Rumble, and others. This indicates business trust in Bitcoin as a protective asset and a tool against inflation.
Experts are confident: if the US government officially enters the market and starts buying Bitcoin, this could sharply push its price up. Various forecasts suggest a rise to $200,000, $500,000, and even $1 million per coin. At the same time, the market remains very volatile and depends on many factors: the economic situation, geopolitics, the state of traditional financial markets, and investor sentiment.
Thus, the participation of the US government in the formation of a crypto reserve may become an important driver of Bitcoin's growth, but the question remains open as to whether there will be actual purchases or whether it will all be limited to the storage of already confiscated assets.
