Donald Trump signs executive order to increase tariffs on steel and aluminum imports to 50%
The goal is to protect American industry and national security from cheap imports and dumping.
The new duties come into force today.
For the UK, the tariff will remain at 25% until July 9, 2025, pending a new deal.
