In a capitalist society, everything is driven by interests.
A few days ago, Musk said in an interview, "I don't want to directly criticize the Trump administration, but I also don't want to be responsible for everything it does. This spending bill has rendered DOGE’s work futile"—in fact, Doge hasn’t accomplished anything, and Musk hasn't even achieved 1% of the $2 trillion reduction he claimed. When he left, he mentioned over a hundred billion in actual impact, which he stated himself, not accounting for additional expenses like layoffs and compensations.
Then Trump immediately insisted that vehicle manufacturing must happen on American soil—which certainly includes Tesla. Today, he has once again clarified the tariffs on steel and aluminum, which undoubtedly directly affects Tesla.
Tesla's shareholders are quite unfortunate. During the Biden era, due to Musk's opposition to unions, Tesla faced exclusion and suppression from the Biden administration, and Musk shifted his support to the Republican Party. The honeymoon period is over.
So today, Musk directly said, "I'm not pretending anymore, it's time to lay it all out, I can't take it anymore"—you should know that this bill was something Trump begged Republican lawmakers to pass, even directly threatening those who wouldn’t vote in favor with support for their competitors.
This is a formal break, undoubtedly a formal break.
