🇺🇸🇨🇳 US-China Trade Slows: Maritime Trade Plummets
The number of cargo ships from China to the US has dropped to the lowest level in the past 15 days since February. Excluding the Lunar New Year holiday period, this is the lowest level in over a year.
Shipping volume has decreased by about 50% since mid-April. Although the two countries announced a 90-day tariff ceasefire agreement on May 12, the situation has shown no signs of improvement.
Both sides will need to come up with a solution soon before the situation worsens, with the risk of widespread unemployment in China and rising commodity prices in the US.
