Topic of the day: Long and Short — how to profit from the rise and fall of crypto
#Binance #обучение #Фьючерсы
🎯 Why is this important?
In crypto, you can earn not only when the market is rising, but also when it is falling.
This is why longs (long) and shorts (short) exist — key tools for traders.
🔹 What is LONG? (Long Position)
You buy an asset expecting it to rise.
Profit comes from the difference between buying and selling.
📌 Example:
You opened a long on BTC at $60,000.
The price increased to $62,000 — you earned $2,000 on 1 BTC.
👉 Long = betting on a rise.
🔹 What is SHORT? (Short Position)
You borrow an asset 'on loan' from the exchange and sell it now to buy it back cheaper later.
The difference is your profit.
📌 Example:
You short ETH at $3,000.
The price drops to $2,700 — you buy it back and make a $300 profit on 1 ETH.
👉 Short = betting on a decline.
⚙️ Where can you long and short?
On Binance futures or in margin trading.
Choose your leverage, open a position, set a stop, and take profit.
❗ Important: with futures, you are trading with borrowed funds. Risks increase.
📌 How to reduce risks when longing and shorting?
Always set stop-losses
Do not use high leverage without experience
Trade based on signals and levels, not emotions
Start with demo mode if you are not sure
💡 Conclusion:
Long — if you expect a rise.
Short — if you expect a decline.
Both — if you want to profit in any market.
