Yes, the cryptocurrency exchange FTX has begun payments to clients affected by its bankruptcy in November 2022. The compensation process occurs in several stages:

First stage of payments

On February 18, 2025, FTX began the first round of payments to clients with approved claims up to $50,000. The total amount of compensation was $1.2 billion, and payments were made through the BitGo and Kraken platforms. Clients in this category received 100% of their funds, as well as 9% annual interest accrued since November 2022.

Second stage of payments

Starting May 30, 2025, the second round of payments began for clients with claims over $50,000. It is expected that the total amount of payments will exceed $5 billion. Payments are made through the same platforms — Kraken and BitGo, and funds are credited to clients' accounts within 1–3 business days.

Restrictions for some countries

It is important to note that the Kraken and BitGo platforms are not available to clients from several countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Currently, solutions for compensating clients from these countries have not been found.

Additional information

Clients awaiting payments receive an additional 9% annual interest on their deposits. As the interest rate on FTX accounts is lower, the company is interested in resolving the issue of loss reimbursement as soon as possible.

If you are an FTX client from Ukraine, it is recommended to follow the official announcements from the exchange's liquidators and be cautious with compensation offers from third parties to avoid fraud.
