Our 5YO mare launched from PP#2, setting the pace early with sharp gate speed, keeping VARSITY BLUE CHIP and REC TIME wide after crossing PRIDEFUL inside.
She controlled the race with a 57.2 opening half and a well-rated second quarter.
In the home stretch, BEANTOWN BABE led by a length with VARSITY BLUE CHIP closing in. As they hit the final meters, both battled fiercely in a near photo finish.
Despite setting the tempo, BEANTOWN was edged out by VARSITY BLUE CHIP, who had the perfect trip.
A strong second-place finish!
