There are two types of market orders: buy and sell. When you select 'Buy', you are asking the broker to purchase a specified amount of the asset at the current price or the best available prices. When you select 'Sell', you are asking the broker to sell a specified amount of borrowed asset units at the current price or the best available prices, with the aim of repurchasing them later when the price drops to make a profit, and this process is sometimes referred to as 'short selling'.
