WARNING – JUNK TOKEN SUDDENLY APPEARS IN BINANCE WALLET
Today I opened my wallet and found a coin named HUMA appearing out of nowhere, with a small balance, and I don't remember purchasing it. What's strange is that Binance does not list this coin, yet it still shows up in the Spot wallet.
It's not that Binance is scamming, but this is a trick from a third party: they send junk tokens in bulk to users' wallets, creating the illusion of 'getting gifted coins', luring the curious to click or connect their wallet to withdraw, sell... It's easy to fall into a scam trap, losing the entire wallet.
Principles: • Do not click, do not withdraw, do not connect the wallet with any unfamiliar DApp. • Do not attempt to swap strange tokens through decentralized exchanges (DEX), as it can lead to wallet takeover. • You can hide this token in the wallet settings to avoid irritation.
Junk tokens are a psychological baiting tactic like 'finding a needle in the wallet', but if you are curious and withdraw – then there will be neither needle nor wallet left.
The speculative uncle gently reminds, Coins you haven't purchased – consider them as never having existed.
