According to data, Tesla currently holds 11,900 BTC, with a market value of approximately 1.2 billion USD. As early as Q1 2021, Tesla purchased 43,200 bitcoins for 1.5 billion USD and once opened BTC car purchasing services, but halted them in May of the same year due to environmental pressures.
Since then, the company has repeatedly reduced its holdings, and the current amount of coins held has significantly decreased. If it had not reduced its holdings to date, the market value would have been close to 5 billion USD. Tesla's digital asset strategy has been inconsistent, which can be described as a “missed billion dollar opportunity.”
It is worth mentioning that Strategy continues to increase its BTC holdings, which have exceeded 570,000 coins, with the latest purchase being approximately 7,390 coins, investing nearly 760 million USD, far exceeding Tesla's investment efforts.
