Vitalik Buterin’s Ethereum Exit? “If You Don’t Like It, Sell Your ETH!”
Ethereum ($ETH ) co-founder Vitalik Buterin has stirred the pot again with a new post on WarpCast, addressing Ethereum Layer 1 scaling and making local node operation more accessible for everyday users.
His comments drew criticism from Dan Romero, co-founder of Farcaster, who labeled Buterin’s approach as outdated and damaging—arguing it favors large-scale, centralized node operators over decentralized participation.
Romero expanded on the idea, warning that pushing out smaller node runners could lead to a “fantasy product” dominated by entities like Coinbase.
In response to the backlash, Buterin didn’t hold back—telling Romero:
“If you don’t like it, sell your ETH.”
