Russian Energy Ministry Suggests Relocating Miners to Northern Regions and Implementing New Electricity Pricing Mechanism

According to reports from HashChain News, Russian Deputy Energy Minister Evgeny Grabchak suggested relocating cryptocurrency miners to northern regions with surplus energy and introducing a grid pricing mechanism. This move aims to utilize the power infrastructure resources left over from oil extraction, avoid waste, and reduce the burden on local power grids. Starting in 2025, the Russian government has implemented mining bans in several regions, but Grabchak emphasized that there is still room for development in the northern, some northwestern, and Volga regions.
