It was launched in April 2025 by World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a financial technology company based in Miami. Its goal is to facilitate digital transactions and the conversion between traditional money and digital assets. The BitGo Trust Company, a regulated entity in South Dakota, is responsible for issuing and legally managing the stablecoin, ensuring compliance with US regulations.
