Bitcoin has recently soared to a historic high, but other cryptocurrencies seem to have hit a pause button, leaving many feeling anxious. I've been observing the market and noticed that while some sectors take turns performing, like the Meme coins from a while back and today's DeFi coins, the overall market still feels lifeless. The biggest question on everyone's mind is: is there still a chance for altcoins to collectively surge in this bull market?

Looking back at historical data, each bull market indeed has a fixed script. In the wave of 2017, Bitcoin first skyrocketed on its own for a month, and only after reaching its peak did capital flood into altcoins like water being released from a dam, igniting the altcoin market after more than twenty days. The situation in 2021 was even more typical; Bitcoin led the market up for a month and a half, and only when it began to consolidate at a high level did the altcoins take off collectively. Right now, Bitcoin has only been performing solo for two weeks, so based on this rhythm, it may take another two weeks before it's the altcoins' turn to take the spotlight.

It's even more interesting to look at Bitcoin's market capitalization dominance as a barometer. It's currently at 63%, a figure that is particularly sensitive during a bull market. Historical patterns show that when Bitcoin's market cap dominance breaks 60%, it tends to continue rising, and in extreme cases, it can reach 70%, at which point altcoins are basically playing dead. As soon as this dominance starts to turn down, especially if it falls below 55%, that signals the arrival of altcoin season. The most dangerous scenario is when Bitcoin's dominance drops to around 40%; this often marks the final frenzy of the bull market, so one must be prepared to exit.

To be honest, this stage is actually a good opportunity for positioning. Those who missed the Bitcoin ride would be better off focusing on high-quality altcoins that are still at low levels rather than chasing the high prices now. Once Bitcoin has fully illuminated the stage and the market heats up completely, these coins could surge violently at any time. However, one must be mentally prepared, as altcoin markets are like crowded trains during the Spring Festival; they either don’t come, or when they do, it's a stampede. Without some patience, it’s hard to hold on.

The market is continuously changing, and we are closely monitoring it to seize new entry opportunities. Like and comment, and let's navigate through the bull market together to seize this major opportunity.
