On May 22, according to a report by Lianhe Zaobao, the latest survey by the cryptocurrency exchange Independent Reserve shows that the awareness of cryptocurrency among Singaporeans has risen to 94%, a record high, but the actual holding rate has dropped from 40% last year to 29%. The survey indicates that Bitcoin remains the most popular cryptocurrency asset, with 68% of cryptocurrency investors holding Bitcoin, and 86% believing it has currency properties or investment value. Furthermore, 53% of cryptocurrency holders plan to increase their holdings in the next year, while 17% of non-holders expressed an intention to enter the market. In terms of investment methods, 61% of investors prefer to directly hold cryptocurrencies rather than investing through exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The usage rate of stablecoins continues to rise, with 46% of investors having held such assets, among which US dollar stablecoins are the most popular, accounting for 83%.
