Viral TikTok personality Haliey Welch, best known for her “Hawk Tuah” moment, has finally spoken out. In her latest podcast episode, she revealed explosive details about the Hawk Token scandal — including an FBI investigation and her regret over fans who lost money.

In a new episode of “Talk Tuah with Haliey Welch,” the influencer publicly addressed the controversy for the first time. She explained that, until now, she was legally prohibited from discussing the matter.

🚔 FBI Shows Up at Her Grandmother’s House

Welch described in detail the shocking moment when FBI agents appeared at her grandmother’s home, asking for her whereabouts.

“My grandma called me freaking out, saying, ‘The FBI is at my door, asking for you! I think I’m having a heart attack!’”

Following the incident, Welch said she cooperated with federal investigators and met with them in Nashville, where she was questioned about her involvement in the crypto world. Her phone was later examined by both the FBI and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). According to Welch, both agencies cleared her of any wrongdoing, and she was not named in any lawsuits. By the end of March, the SEC had formally dropped all charges.

💬 “I Was Just the Face — Not the Developer”

Welch insists she was not part of the Hawk Token team, but rather hired purely as a paid spokesperson.

“I didn’t make a dime off the coin itself. I got paid a marketing fee — that’s it.”

She explained that the token’s promoters sent her pre-written lines to read in promo videos, which she filmed and forwarded. These were then posted on X (formerly Twitter) accounts using her name. Welch emphasized that she had minimal knowledge of crypto at the time.

“They’d send me a script, I’d record a selfie video repeating it, and send it back. Then the guy running the account would post it on Twitter.”

🥀 Regret for Fans Who Lost Money

The most painful part, she says, is the impact on her followers, many of whom invested their monthly budgets into Hawk Token because they trusted her.

“I feel like I let them down. My face was on the coin — they thought they could trust me. That I was guiding them toward something good and long-term.”

Early reports suggested losses of up to $1.2 million, but Welch claims the actual damage to real people was closer to $180,000 — still devastating.

She admitted that she felt physically sick thinking about her fans, some of whom messaged her in distress after losing money. Looking back, she confessed she didn’t know enough about crypto to be promoting it.

💬 Welch now distances herself from the crypto world and urges: “Know what you’re promoting before you attach your name to it.” Is her apology genuine — or just damage control?
