Coinbase leak leads to $2.4M loss for US artist
Los Angeles-based sculptor Ed Suman lost his retirement savings — 17.5 BTC and 225 ETH — after entering his seed phrase on a phishing site. The attack was enabled by a data breach at Coinbase, which gave scammers access to his personal info.
Suman claims he never received a warning from Coinbase. The exchange admitted that under 1% of users were affected but hasn’t confirmed any compensation yet.
