#BinancePizza 670 million pizza: The Most Expensive Food Bitcoin

In 2010, when Bitcoin was just a little-known digital experiment worth only a few cents, a programmer from Florida named Laszlo Hanyecz was hungry for pizza.

Laszlo was mining Bitcoin as a hobby on his computer, accumulating a decent stash of this new "internet money" that few took seriously. Eager to prove that Bitcoin could actually be used to purchase something real, he posted an offer on the Bitcoin forum on May 18, 2010:

"I will pay 10,000 bitcoins for a couple of pizzas... maybe 2 large ones."

At that time, those 10,000 bitcoins were worth approximately $41 in total. A British man accepted the offer, ordering two large Papa John's pizzas for delivery to Laszlo's home. The transaction was completed on May 22, entering history as the first real purchase using Bitcoin.

Two delicious pizzas. Ten thousand bitcoins.
