Fedrok AG, a pioneering Swiss blockchain firm renowned for its innovations in carbon credit tokenization and sustainable Web3 technologies, has launched a new $20,000 blockchain development grant aimed at African developers.

This initiative is designed to foster the creation of blockchain-based micro-transaction platforms to enhance financial access in underserved regions of Chad and Niger.

At the core of the initiative is a challenge to African developers: design and build a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that operates on the Fedrok Blockchain and addresses critical financial access barriers in these communities.

The grant invites participants to create tools that are secure, mobile-first, and usable even with low internet bandwidth – a necessity in many parts of Africa.

“We believe blockchain should solve real problems, not just power speculation. This call for proposals is about building practical, accessible tools for people who need them the most,” said Dr. Philip Blazdell, CEO of Fedrok AG.

What the MVP Should Deliver

To be eligible for funding, proposals must include an MVP that:

  • Supports peer-to-peer and small business transactions

  • Functions on low-bandwidth mobile networks

  • Integrates seamlessly with Fedrok’s EVM-compatible blockchain

  • Is accessible to users with limited digital literacy

  • Offers multi-language support (French required; local languages optional)

  • Includes wallet features, basic KYC, and transaction history
