Appointment of Morten Suberg as Secretary General of the Bitcoin Policy Institute
According to Aspirations News, Morten Suberg, the former Secretary of State in the Norwegian Ministry of Finance and a member of the board of the Norwegian central bank, will take on the role of Secretary General at the newly established Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) in August 2025. Suberg, who currently serves as Director of Public Affairs at SpareBank 1, will lead the institute in its mission to oppose the Bitcoin ban, advocate for legislative openness, and increase public understanding of Bitcoin and the monetary system.
The Bitcoin Policy Institute has already received donations estimated at around 1.517 Bitcoin, equivalent to approximately 1.6 million Norwegian kroner, and attracted 121 paid members. The institute aims to influence policy and foster a more conscious dialogue about Bitcoin and its role in the financial landscape.
