Morten Søberg to Lead Bitcoin Policy Institute as Secretary-General
Former Norwegian Finance Ministry State Secretary and Central Bank Supervisory Board member Morten Søberg will take on the role of Secretary-General at the Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) starting August 2025. Currently serving as Director of Public Affairs at SpareBank 1, Søberg will guide BPI in its mission to:
✅ Oppose Bitcoin bans
✅ Advocate for pro-Bitcoin policies
✅ Educate the public on Bitcoin and monetary systems
The institute has already secured 1.517 BTC (~1.6M NOK) in donations and gained 121 paid members. BPI aims to shape policy and promote informed discussions on Bitcoin's role in finance.
