Deep Tide TechFlow News, on May 17, according to Cointelegraph, Ethereum researcher Justin Drake stated that the cost of launching a 51% attack on Bitcoin is "far less than" that of Ethereum, estimated to be around 10 billion USD. The current staking amount of Ethereum is approximately 34.16 million ETH, valued at nearly 89.6 billion USD, so the funding needed to control over 50% of the network is about 44.8 billion USD.

Drake pointed out that one major advantage of the Proof of Stake (PoS) mechanism compared to Proof of Work (PoW) is that in the event of a 51% attack, society can identify the attackers and impose punitive reductions. Additionally, the community can resolve centralization issues through forking, causing the compromised chain to lose value.
