Some advice for the Web2 founders and utility token teams entering this space: the rules here are different - and far less forgiving.

Founders often fall into a trap: chasing short-term sentiment at the cost of long-term credibility.

It starts with good intentions and a roadmap. But then the token moves, and every green candle demands an update. Every dip demands a teaser. Communities especially in small caps - become pressure cookers: “When announcement?” “Partnership soon?” “Dev say something.”

So founders cave. They start hinting. Teasing. Promising things still in motion, just to keep the crowd happy.

But crypto is reflexive. Expectations get priced in fast. If you don’t exceed them, you lose trust. The market doesn’t reward effort. It rewards surprise and momentum.

Once you overpromise and underdeliver, you enter a spiral. Support turns to skepticism. Token PA starts reflecting doubt, not belief. Every update is met with “this is it?” And silence only makes it worse.

In this market where attention is scarce, timelines are compressed, and liquidity is fragile you should always strive to underpromise and overdeliver.
