When has a coin ever hit $100M, $1B, or any X after everyone started calling for it publicly? In my experience - never. The ones that make it are rarely expected and that’s for a reason. A few contrarians with conviction quietly accumulate supply, hold through doubt, and wait. Then it grinds. Slowly at first. Then reflexively - as price manufactures belief.

Everyone’s chasing 100x, but stacking clean 2–3x trades and locking in gains is what actually compounds. Greed is your biggest liability driven by muscle memory from the last time the market ran hot. You want to catch the next big one, but when everyone’s positioned for the same outcome, there’s no edge. Conditions shift. History rhymes, it doesn’t repeat.

One of the easiest ways to give back gains is revisiting trades that have already played out. You catch the move, take the win - but now you’re anchored to the coin, convinced there’s more left. What you’re really doing is trading the memory of a good setup, not the reality in front of you. By the time you return, dynamics have usually shifted - new participants, new flows, changed incentives. But you’re still fixated on the price action, assuming it means the same thing as before. This is how recency bias and the endowment effect creep in - overvaluing what’s familiar and ignoring that edge comes from context, not comfort.

Not yet at the point where I can sleep easy holding most of these coins in this new meta - and I doubt I’m alone. Felt completely different during the AI cycle, when I was early and confident. Until that changes, I stay cautious. Trade it, don’t trust it.
