🔐 EthTrust Security Initiative
In November 2020, the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) launched the EthTrust Security Levels Working Group. This group continued the work initiated by the Ethereum Trust Alliance (ETA) aimed at creating standards for secure smart contracts within the Ethereum ecosystem. The EthTrust project is focused on developing standards and a registry that will allow for the quick and easy determination of whether a smart contract has undergone a full security audit by a professional team.
🛡️ Ethereum Protocol Attackathon
In July 2024, the Ethereum Foundation, in collaboration with Immunefi, announced the first Ethereum Protocol Attackathon — a four-week event aimed at improving the security of the Ethereum protocol through a large-scale crowdsourced security audit. The goal is to raise over 2 million dollars for the prize pool, with the Ethereum Foundation already contributing an initial 500,000 dollars. All members of the Ethereum community are invited to participate in the event — from projects to individual developers.
