Ethereum has the following important upgrades in 2025:

- Pectra Upgrade: Scheduled to launch in March 2025, it includes EIP-7702, which will improve the wallet user experience, allowing wallets to be programmable like smart contracts; also includes EIP-7251, which increases the maximum amount that can be staked by validators from 32ETH to 2,048ETH, addressing staking limit issues.

- Prague Upgrade: Expected to prepare for the mainnet upgrade in the first quarter of 2025, with full launch in the second quarter. It will introduce a PoS+ consensus mechanism to enhance network security and decentralization through a validator reputation system and dynamic stake adjustment mechanism; it will also adopt JIT compilation technology and a parallel execution engine to optimize smart contract execution efficiency, and introduce Dynamic Sharding technology to improve network protocols.
