#EthereumSecurityInitiative Next, class: the Ethereum Foundation pulled the train and launched the so-called Ethereum Security Initiative, and I have to say... it was about time. With so much money locked in DeFi, NFTs, L2, bridges, liquid staking, and who knows what else, it was obvious that security needed to become a priority.

The idea now is to bring together developers, auditors, and protocols to create stronger security standards, like a best practices manual and even incentives to identify vulnerabilities before some clever person exploits them. It's like a community effort to shield the ecosystem.

But, honestly? That's great on paper, but it has to become a culture, not just a pretty document on GitHub. Because what we have are projects running copied contracts from Stack Overflow and thinking they're going to revolutionize the world. Spoiler: they won't.

If Ethereum wants to continue being the backbone of Web3, security has to be default, not a last-minute fix. Let's see if this time things move forward, or if it will be yet another one of those initiatives that dies on the announcement page.
