The Ethereum Foundation (EF) announced the start of the global Trillion Dollar Security (1TS) initiative — a large-scale project aimed at raising the security level of Ethereum to a standard worthy of supporting the global economy.
It aims to provide billions of people with secure on-chain storage for their funds, while giving large institutions trust in smart contracts involving billion-dollar sums.
“Ethereum is already the most reliable blockchain environment, but that is not enough. We aspire for Ethereum to become an infrastructure of civilizational scale — more reliable than traditional financial systems,” reads the official announcement from EF.
