Democrats seek suspicious activity reports linked to Trump's cryptocurrency projects

Democratic legislators in the U.S. have sent a letter to the U.S. Treasury demanding access to suspicious activity reports (SARs) regarding various cryptocurrency projects backed by Trump, as part of the latest investigation into the president's digital initiatives.

Drafted by Representatives Gerald Connolly, Joseph Morelle, and Jamie Raskin, the letter dated May 14 requests Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent for all SARs filed since 2023 related to World Liberty Financial (WLF) and the Official Trump token TRUMP11,27 €.

Financial institutions in the U.S. must file SARs with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), an office within the Treasury Department, when they detect suspicious activities, including potential money laundering or fraud.
