The founder of Cardano reveals a huge airdrop for 37 million wallets across 8 blockchains

At the Consensus 2025 event in Toronto, Charles Hoskinson once again mentioned Glacier Drop - the upcoming large airdrop of the Midnight blockchain:

- The governance token NIGHT and the transaction token DUST will be airdropped to 37 million wallets spread across 8 major blockchains including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, XRP Ledger, Solana, BNB Chain, Avalanche, and Polygon.

- Hoskinson declined the participation of venture capital (VC) funds, focusing on distributing tokens to the community of retail investors with the message: “The tokens are yours - hold, trade, or do as you wish!”.

- The goal of the Glacier Drop and Midnight in general is to build a connected blockchain ecosystem rather than competing. Developers on Ethereum, Solana, etc., can build applications on both Midnight and validators from any chain to maintain the network and earn rewards regardless of the blockchain.

The distribution date and specific criteria have not yet been officially announced. Currently, Midnight is in the testnet phase and is expected to launch the mainnet by the end of 2025.
