On May 15, PANews reported, according to CoinDesk, that Bee Maps, a project under Hivemapper, a decentralized mapping network of Solana, announced a partnership with ride-hailing giant Lyft to provide real-time updated road data. This collaboration marks the beginning of shared mobility companies adopting blockchain incentive-driven crowdsourced mapping solutions. Hivemapper collects real-time road information (such as construction zones, changes in traffic signs, etc.) through AI dashcams, and contributors can earn crypto rewards. Bee Maps, as its application layer, uses AI to process this crowdsourced data, continuously updating high-precision maps. This collaboration comes as another Solana ecosystem mapping project, NATIX, announced a similar partnership with ride service Grab.
