When first entering (MapleStory N), many people have a common question: How to choose a profession?

This test server has opened five classic professions: Warrior, Mage, Archer, Thief, Pirate.

Every profession has its own characteristics; there are no absolute strengths or weaknesses, but there are indeed directions suitable for different gameplay goals.

Below are my compiled suggestions for professions and skill allocation directions; don't miss them as a beginner.

Which profession suits you?

Archer

Ranged profession, fast attack speed, and large skill range, currently one of the highest efficiency choices for farming monsters. Leveling is quick, and with the right equipment, farming NESO is particularly easy.

Suitable for those with clear goals, wanting to gain experience and rewards.

Mage

Farming skills are flashy and have wide coverage, cleaning up all monsters in one wave. Leveling efficiency is as high as that of archers, but a bit more fragile, with a lower fault tolerance.

Suitable for players who enjoy AOE farming.

Warrior

High health and defense, can take hits and last long. Although the skill range is not large, survivability is strong, making it stable for beginners to farm monsters or team up for boss fights.

Suitable for first-time players or those who prefer a stable style.

Thief

Extremely fast attack speed, strong output in boss fights, but also requires high operational skill; slow hands can lead to chaos.

Suitable for veteran players who enjoy high-mobility combat.

Pirate

A profession that is somewhat mid-range, with diverse skills. Whether farming monsters or boss fights, it has its place. The gameplay is relatively variable, but also requires understanding.

Suitable for players who enjoy exploration and constantly adjusting their strategies.

Suggestions for quick leveling & not dying easily

If you are the type of player who wants to level up quickly:

Recommended for mages or archers, leveling efficiency in the early stages is extremely high, but remember to keep your equipment up to date, as the gap will widen after level 120.

If you are the type of player who prefers 'not to be too tired' or lacks confidence in operation:

It is recommended to choose Warrior or Pirate, with high survivability and strong fault tolerance, making it easier to grow steadily compared to farming efficiency.

If you are the type who wants to be 'cool, fierce, and have explosive output':

Please choose Thief directly; leveling may be tiring, but performance in boss fights is very strong later on.

Suggested skill allocation order (general version)

No matter what profession you play, skill allocation roughly follows this order:

1. First, allocate 1 point to attack skills to ensure basic monster farming ability;

2. Next, prioritize maxing out passive skills, such as increasing movement speed, attack speed, critical hits, etc., significantly improving overall efficiency;

3. Then max out your main attack skills for maximum output;

4. Finally, allocate other auxiliary skills as needed to create your personal playstyle.

Overall, the current focus of (MapleStory N) is still on equipment development. While career choice is important, the larger gap comes from later resources and growth direction.

Don't get too hung up on choosing the wrong profession; it's most important to play what you find appealing and comfortable!
