Regarding the latest tariff news between the United States and China, according to the latest report (May 14, 2025), the two countries reached an agreement after high-level economic and trade talks in Switzerland to significantly reduce the tariffs imposed on each other.

The following are the main points:

* United States tariffs on Chinese goods: The previous tariff rate of up to 145% will be reduced to 30%.

* Chinese tariffs on U.S. goods: The previous tariff rate of up to 125% will be reduced to 10%.

This tariff adjustment took effect on May 14, 2025, at 12:01 PM. Both sides agreed to suspend the implementation of new tariffs and will establish a mechanism to continue negotiations on economic and trade relations. This is seen as a temporary ceasefire in the trade war, lasting for 90 days.

In addition, the United States will also reduce tariffs on small parcels from China valued below $800 to 30%, in order to further alleviate the impact of the trade war.
