CFTC Commissioner Summer Mersinger will resign on May 30 and will take office as CEO of the Blockchain Association on June 2. The association is the main lobbying organization for the crypto industry in Washington. Mersinger was nominated by the Biden administration and during her tenure supported strengthening the cooperation between CFTC and SEC to establish a regulatory framework for digital assets. Blockchain Association CEO Kristin Smith will step down on May 19 to become president of the Solana Policy Institute. (The Block)
