While the DOGE initiative fades in Washington, Elon Musk received applause in Riyadh.
Instead of wrestling with government inefficiencies, he took the stage at a prestigious Saudi-American investment forum and unveiled his bold vision: a world filled with humanoid robots, artificial intelligence, and universal high income for all.

🤖 The Future? Billions of Robots, No Scarcity
At the forum in Riyadh, Musk didn’t hold back. He predicted a future with “tens of billions of humanoid robots”, acting as assistants that could exponentially increase global productivity.
“Economic output is productivity per person times population. With humanoid robots, productivity becomes essentially unlimited,” he said.
His vision? A world where AI and robotics eliminate scarcity, giving everyone access to whatever goods or services they desire. But Musk also issued a warning — referencing Terminator as an example of what could go wrong if AI isn’t handled responsibly.
🧠 xAI Wants to Understand the Universe
Musk also talked about his new AI venture xAI, which he said is driven by one main goal — to “understand the universe.”
He explained that this means asking the right questions. Once those are clear, he added, “answers are usually the easy part.”
🚗 Autonomous Cars? “Robots on Four Wheels”
In response to questions about Saudi Arabia’s automation goals, Musk quipped:
“Future cars can be seen as robots on four wheels.”
He added that it would be “exciting” to see autonomous vehicles on Saudi roads — if the Kingdom is open to it.
🏛️ And What About DOGE? In Washington, It’s Being Called “Dead”
While Musk shines abroad, his DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) initiative in the U.S. is falling apart.
The congressional DOGE Caucus, meant to work with Musk on improving federal efficiency, has practically disbanded.
Congressman Jared Moskowitz told Politico:
“The DOGE caucus is dead. It doesn’t exist. We’ve met only twice in five months.”
According to Moskowitz, there’s zero coordination between Musk’s team and Congress.
“Musk is doing everything himself. We were never part of it,” he said.
✈️ Flight Delays, Airport Outages, and Frustration
DOGE was supposed to fix inefficiencies, but instead it’s drawing criticism. A recent two-week communication blackout at Newark Airport, which led the FAA to halt flights, is cited as proof of DOGE’s failure.
Still, not everyone agrees with this assessment.
📣 “We’re Just Getting Started,” Says the Co-Chair
Congressman Aaron Bean, the caucus co-chair, insists the group is active and building momentum. He said that 100 members and 8 specialized task forces are currently preparing legislation aimed at saving taxpayers money.
🧠 One-Minute Recap:
Elon Musk has stepped away from the “dying” DOGE project in Washington and is now focused on global visions — robots, AI, autonomous vehicles, and understanding the universe. Meanwhile, the U.S. initiative he left behind is unraveling, while Musk continues to shine on the global stage and push the boundaries of innovation.
