Today, Let’s Talk about Saviour Trauma Imprint . There are three interconnected conditioning that leads to the saviour trauma imprint. 1. When a child's sense of worth is derived from serving others. The big term is parentification, but I don't intend to bore you with big-big words. When a child starts taking adults responsibilities early enough, the child learns that doing that leads to attention, acceptance and validation. The child learns early enough that when I serve my parents or others, there is emotional reward.. My parents don't feel disappointed of me, rather they praise me. My parents don't have conflict with me, rather we have a smooth relationship. More importantly, the child learns that he/she is the stabilizer of the family, especially when the parents are neglectful, not responsible, lacks financial capacity, or is having behavioural issues. Early enough, the child starts taking parenting roles to siblings, or spousal roles, or therapist roles. The bottom line is, the child learns that IT IS MY ROLE to go on and beyond to step in to fix, rescue or amend the situation. If you ever if, if not me, nobody will step in. Or if I don't do anything, nothing will change.. Read this post again, this time slowly..
