PANews, May 13 news, according to Decrypt, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs vetoed two cryptocurrency-related bills on Monday, including SB 1024, which establishes a strategic reserve fund for digital assets, and SB 1373, which allows government agencies to accept cryptocurrency payments. In her veto letter, Hobbs stated that the volatility of the cryptocurrency market is too great to be suitable as a public fund allocation option. Previously, she had vetoed SB 1025, which allowed the state treasury to allocate 10% of its funds to Bitcoin, making Arizona the 10th state in the U.S. to veto similar proposals.
Hobbs also signed HB 2387, which aims to strictly regulate cryptocurrency ATMs, requiring operators to provide multilingual fraud warnings, transaction hash receipts, and implement daily transaction limits (new users $2,000/day, existing users $10,500/day). However, Hobbs just signed bill 2749 last week, allowing the government to hold unclaimed digital assets in their original form, showing her still cautious yet open attitude towards cryptocurrency regulation.
