In late 2024, Binance launched the inaugural season of its Case Challenge, bringing the energy of Web3 into the classrooms of India’s most prestigious business schools. The result? A powerful showcase of talent, creativity, and forward-thinking strategies that bridge academic theory with the real-world challenges of blockchain.
A Bold Mission
The Binance Case Challenge set out with a clear goal: to bridge the gap between education and innovation, giving students the opportunity to explore blockchain’s potential beyond textbooks. Over 60 teams from top institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) participated, tackling complex case studies and proposing real-world blockchain solutions
Meet the Top Teams
After a rigorous selection process, three standout teams emerged:
Champion: Team Futures – IIM Bangalore
Their bold, four-layer playbook combined regional education initiatives, AI-powered agents, authentic storytelling, and gamified growth. Their culturally aware strategy impressed judges with its innovation and scalability.Runner-Up: HODL – IIM Lucknow
Focused on building trust and awareness, HODL’s roadmap emphasized financial empowerment for small businesses and individual users. Their deep understanding of India’s digital needs positioned Binance as a long-term ally in the country’s Web3 journey.2nd Runner-Up: Crypto Crusaders – FMS Delhi
Though self-proclaimed newcomers to crypto, this team offered insight-driven solutions that addressed real user pain points. Their product and marketing ideas were aimed at simplifying adoption and driving mass trust.
Judged by Binance’s Top Leaders
The finalists pitched their ideas to Bader Al Kalooti (Head of Growth & Ops, MENASAT), Kushal Manupati (Director of Growth Marketing), and ultimately to Binance CEO Richard Teng and CMO Rachel Conlan at a virtual grand finale.
Rachel Conlan praised the teams, saying:
“It’s inspiring to see how these students approach challenges with such creativity, energy, and purpose. They are not just learning about the future – they’re helping build it.”
Richard Teng echoed the sentiment, highlighting the real impact these ideas could have on both India’s blockchain landscape and Binance’s global mission.
