Ethereum price today: $2,330 Ethereum's 21% surge on Thursday marked its highest single-day gain since May 2021. The rally was likely spurred by crypto native investors on the spot market who withdrew a net of 180K ETH from exchanges. ETH could surge past the $2,500 and $2,850 key levels if its technical indicators on the weekly chart flip bullish. Ethereum (ETH) is up 6% on Friday, extending its weekly gains to 29% after nearly two weeks of consolidation near $1,800. The recent rally stems from increased buying pressure from investors on the spot market following a sharp plunge in ETH's exchange reserve. Spot investors sparked ETH's 21% gain Ethereum recorded a 21.8% gain on Thursday, its highest single day gain since May 24, 2021, according to the Binance ETH/USDT TradingView chart. Despite the rise, US spot Ether ETFs stretched their negative flows to three consecutive days of net outflows after shedding $16.11 million on Thursday, per SoSoValue data. Ethereum's funding rates also remained at normal levels near 0.01, indicating the rally wasn't inspired by ETF flows or high leverage trading.

#AltcoinSeasonLoading A shift in cryptocurrency market dynamics has reignited discussions around the return of an altcoin season. Over the past week, investor sentiment reversed course following a short period of market pessimism. Digital assets separated from equities on Monday, marking a notable decoupling. By Tuesday, a broader rally had fueled growing momentum in the altcoin market. has resulted in a rejection, followed by a significant decline. Resistance levels emerged around 4.00%, 6.00%, and most recently, 8.2%. Blue circles highlight these key points on the chart. Following each rejection, the market experienced downturns that coincided with strong altcoin rallies. This recurring pattern has become a key reference for analysts monitoring a potential altcoin season. According to the same chart, the rejections have historically triggered capital movement from Bitcoin to altcoins. Large gray arrows on the chart indicate steep declines in dominance. These drops coincided with times when alternative tokens significantly outperformed Bitcoin.

$XRP Ripple is a privately-held fintech company that provides a global payment solution via its patented payment network called Ripple Network (also known as RippleNet). RippleNet is a payment network that is built on top of Ripple’s consensus ledger, called XRP Ledger (also known as XRPL). Ripple funded the development of the open-source XRP Ledger. Unlike most cryptocurrencies out there that cater to peer-to-peer needs, Ripple was made to connect banks, payment providers and digital asset exchanges, enabling real-time settlement expeditions and lower transaction fees. XRP Ledger (XRPL) is the open-source distributed ledger that is created by Ripple. The native cryptocurrency of the XRP Ledger is XRP. Compared to Bitcoin (BTC) which uses a distributed blockchain whose transactions are processed and secured by proof-of-work mining, XRP transactions are processed by a network of trusted validators on the XRP Ledger Ripple transactions are publicly recorded on its open-source distributed consensus ledger which has a similar data structure to a blockchain where the successive data block includes the hash of the previous block. However, its consensus mechanism is different from Bitcoin or Ethereum. It does not rely on Proof of Work (PoW) and therefore there is no mining involved with XRP. XRP instead relies on a consensus algorithm known as the Ripple Protocol Consensus Algorithm. The XRPL’s integrity is maintained by a group of trusted nodes. All transactions must be agreed by a supermajority of these trusted nodes for it to achieve consensus and be included in the XRP Ledger. XRPL uses a different set of rules called the Ripple Consensus Protocol Algorithm (RCPA). The RCPA defines how XRPL is managed by a network of independent Ripple validator nodes. Any Ripple transaction needs to be verified by at least 80% of the nodes on the network. Anyone can become a validator. However, Ripple maintains a given set of validators that can be trusted. This trusted list of nodes is called the Unique Node List (UNL).
