A group of 20 senators from the Democratic Party has introduced new legislation aimed at prohibiting senior government officials from issuing or promoting cryptocurrencies. Key officials from the Democratic Party are expressing concerns about President Trump's interests in the cryptocurrency sector.

The so-called "2025 Cryptocurrency Industry Corruption Termination Act" would prohibit the President, Vice President, members of Congress, individuals appointed to Senate-confirmed positions, and certain other special government employees in the Executive Office, as well as their spouses and dependent children, from issuing, sponsoring, or endorsing any cryptocurrencies or other digital assets.
