"China is deeply concerned about Israel restarting attacks in Gaza and regrets the damage done to the ceasefire," said Fu Cong, China’s ambassador to the UN, during a Security Council meeting. "We strongly condemn these actions."

Fu said the ceasefire should be respected and followed honestly, without any efforts to break or change it.

He also urged Israel, as the occupying power, to follow international humanitarian laws and immediately allow full humanitarian aid into Gaza.
