The White House announced the agreement on trade issues with Beijing, reached today in Geneva, in a statement that does not provide any details.
"I am pleased to announce that we have made substantial progress between the United States and China in the very important trade talks," said U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent, after negotiations with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, thanking the Swiss government for their hospitality.
"Tomorrow we will provide the details, but I can tell you that the talks were productive."
U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick is optimistic that things will go well, adding that it is really important for both the United States and China.
