One of the most notable trades I have done recently was the altcoin Solana (sol). I had been closely monitoring SOL for weeks because it was trending towards creating a bullish ascending triangle on the daily chart, and there was an important resistance level around the $140 mark. This pattern was being fueled by a series of higher lows that represented growing buying pressure.
I went long at $155 once I noticed an obvious breakout effort with good volume. My exit target was around $178, using prior levels of resistance as well as extension targets using the Fibonacci. My stop-loss order was at $149, beneath the trendline support. The setup provided an excellent risk-to-reward of approximately 1:3.
This trade wasn't simply a matter of price action—it was also about fundamental strength. At the same time, there were reports of a significant partnership regarding Solana's inclusion in one of the top #nft marketplaces. That announcement fueled the bearish narrative, and I noticed a clear shift in sentiment on social media and trading forums. Market confidence in the network speed of Solana and increasing developer adoption made it the altcoin that stood out.
The trade went according to plan almost flawlessly.📈📈 Two days after the breakout, #SOL recovered and reached my take-profit target of $.160 💶I closed the trade and locked in a 14.8% profit. This reinforced my confidence in the power of merging technical setups with fundamental catalysts. It also justified my patience—I had waited for the breakout confirmation instead of jumping in early and risking a false move.
What made this trade particularly valuable was the transparency of the setup. Far too many traders dive into altcoin trades without a proper plan, particularly when altcoin markets are very volatile. But I approached this trade in the same manner I would approach a #BTC or #ETH setup—looking at structure, confirmation, volume, and narrative. By holding altcoins to the same level of discipline, I was able to take emotion out of the equation and clean up on the trade.
