The first time I learned about Crypto when I thought ETH was just a transaction fee!

I still vividly remember the first day I stepped into the crypto market. It was a late evening, and I wanted to sell the coin I had just earned. I went to the exchange, looked around, clicked a bit… then realized that to buy or sell any coin, I needed a type of coin called ETH to pay for the transaction fee. Well, fine, I’ll buy a little ETH to cover the fees. At that time, in my mind, ETH was nothing more than… a transaction fee. I bought it when I needed it, topped it up when it was out. I didn't think much. I had no idea that it was one of the coins that stood just behind BTC. I also didn’t know that each ETH I was using for those transactions… could hold significant value. Then one day, I was curious: What is ETH that has such high fees?! I started to learn more. Ethereum is not just a fee, but a huge ecosystem, where thousands of decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts are operating. A platform that the whole world is flocking to build on. I was astonished looking back at my old transactions… and could only laugh. How could I have been so naive at that time? But that very naivety was the starting point for me to embark on a wonderful journey of exploration in the cryptocurrency market. ETH, for me, was once an interesting confusion, and sometimes looking back, I still find it amusing how clueless I was back then.
