Binance founder Changpeng Zhao has confirmed he applied for a pardon from President Trump for his money laundering conviction, reversing earlier denials.
CZ said his lawyers filed the request after reports linked him to a potential pardon and cited Trump’s previous pardons of the BitMEX founders as motivation.
Zhao, who served four months in prison, said he has no plans to return as Binance CEO but remains a shareholder.
