According to PANews, the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has appointed David Geale as the Executive Director of the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) and head of the Payments and Digital Finance Department. Geale has been serving as the interim director of the PSR since June 2024. With over 20 years of experience at the FCA and its predecessor, the Financial Services Authority (FSA), Geale has held various roles, including Director of Retail Banking. He played a significant role in policy reforms during Brexit, such as the retail distribution review. Recently, he has been involved in developing regulatory frameworks for crypto assets, savings rate policies, and mortgage market reform initiatives.
