60 thousand LockBit bitcoin wallet addresses leaked after gang hack
The cybercriminal group LockBit, known for its ransomware, has suffered a serious blow: their dark web platform was hacked, and the database was made publicly available. According to reports from May 8, 2025, published on X, the leak contains about 60 thousand bitcoin wallet addresses, private keys, logs of conversations with victims, and information about affiliates. The hacker left a mocking message: "Don't engage in crime, crime is bad, love from Prague."
This incident is a continuation of LockBit's problems following law enforcement's 'Cronos' operation in February 2024, which had already weakened the group. The leak could help trace victim payments and strike at the gang's financial network. At the same time, it highlights the vulnerability of even cybercriminals to hacks. Analysts suggest that LockBit's reputation may not recover, and affiliates may join other groups, such as Akira.
