Stripe has launched the "Stablecoin Accounts" service in over 100 countries, allowing businesses to hold balances of US dollar stablecoins, receive them, and send them, similar to traditional bank accounts. The service currently supports USDC issued by Circle and USDB issued by Bridge (a subsidiary of Stripe).
These accounts allow users to add funds via bank transfers or cryptocurrency wallets, conduct transfers between accounts, and send money to other parties in US dollars or stablecoins through blockchain networks. This move represents a significant expansion of Stripe's cryptocurrency-related services, aiming to facilitate the use of stablecoins in international business transactions and reduce friction in cross-border payments.
